The Spring Open was a HUGE
success… THANK YOU TO THE ATHLETES FOR THEIR
PARTICIPATION!!!
The competition was exceptional (nearly 800 athletes!) and from
the youngest
to the oldest, THUNDERBOLTS everywhere “stepping up”
to the challenge! Thank you to our THUNDERBOLT coaching staff for
having our athletes prepared!
THANK YOU TO THPRD!!! I personally thank THPRD for the use of such
a fine facility and
the staff for their help and support.
THANK YOU JOE DAHL!!! Joe Dahl (LOSC) “stepped up” and
served as referee for the entire
weekend as our team is currently without a certified referee (Greg
Rooker is training for this position and was “acting
referee” all weekend as part of his training).
THANK YOU THUNDERBOLT VOLUNTEERS!!! As previously mentioned, an
event of this
magnitude takes hundreds of man-hours; except for a few
“calls for timers”, things appeared to function
properly and the meet ran “smooth”. I would never be
able to thank everyone individually, but would like to extend
special thanks to those who worked as officials, including everyone
in the “crow’s nest” and to Kimberly Zayas and
the entire meet management crew; those at the “clerk of
course” and in
awards; the announcers, safety marshals, concessions and
hospitality workers and“the equipment guys” who are
there (before anyone else) getting things “set-up” and
remain at the end (long after many of
us have gone home) to “break it down”. The list above
could, of course, be more expansive; the success our athletes found
at the Spring Open is only possible through the commitment and
efforts of those who volunteer their time to make it happen…
for the athletes…THANK YOU!!!
